Here is a round up of what’s trending in home design for 2016:

  1. According to Zillow.com you should get yourself a “Nubby Wool Rug.” Their recent article states: “Nubby wool or other natural fibers will be the go-to texture for 2016, especially for area rugs. Their neutral hues create the perfect indoor/outdoor vibe, while softening bolder colors and dramatic statement pieces.” Read the full article here: http://www.zillow.com/blog/home-design-trends-for-2016-189735/
  2. Interior Designer Loretta J. Willis is predicting that mixed metals, a metallic ceiling and earthy tone paint colors will continue to trend in 2016, just as they had in 2015. Read the full article here: http://alightreflection.com/2015/02/02/decorating-trends-2015-2016/
  3. Lastly, Pantone’s color of the year is not one, but TWO colors this year. Oddly enough, they are a baby blue and pink mixture. Not quite sure if that would fly in any room other than a nursery but hey – if Pantone says its the color of they year – I am quite sure that the décor and trinkets to follow will soon be everyone’s MUST HAVE items.  Check out the “rose quartz and serenity” pantone colors here: https://www.pantone.com/color-of-the-year-2016
